CarFit for Volunteers
Many great opportunities exist for you to become involved in local CarFit events. As a volunteer, you may choose to become a CarFit Technician or CarFit Event Coordinator. To learn more about your role as a CarFit Technician, please review the information below.

CarFit Technician
CarFit Technicians must attend a half-day technician training hosted by an Event Coordinator. Upon completion, you will be able to take participants through a CarFit event safely. CarFit Technicians must:
- Be able to bend over, stoop down, and assist another in walking.
- Possess good observational skills.
- Demonstrate time management skills.

Telephone/Scheduling
Taking phone reservations from participants for the CarFit program and later confirming with them their CarFit reservation time. Telephone schedulers must have:
- Demonstrated telephone skills.
- A friendly demeanor.
- Demonstrate an ability to coordinate a scheduling process.
- Able to hear with assistive devices.

Traffic Direction
CarFit Technicians may help with traffic flow the day of the CarFit event. Traffic directors must have:
- Experience in directing traffic at events (e.g., at church, school, etc.).
- A friendly disposition.

Participating in the CarFit Event
CarFit Technicians are instrumental to a successful CarFit event. CarFit Technicians assist senior driver participants with check-in, check-up and check-out at the events.
